“Gram Jagat” is a non-governmental Organization, registered under society registration act 21/1860 with active registration with Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 80G and 12A with Income Tax Department and other legal compliances necessary to recieve Indian and foreign donations, grant or collaborative projects.

It works on Ambedkar’s principle of “educate, agitate and organize. It has started its journey in 2001 from 11 panchayat of Warisaliganj block in Nawada district; Bihar with a thrust to educate and empower the most marginalized & excluded communities in the society and creates sustainable development process with people’s participation to ensure their access, participation and development. Gram Jagat committed to connect with the communities of deprived, exploited, socially backward caste/class people and their holistic development.

Gram Jagat has been able to partnered with several Community Led Organisations (CLOs) across Bihar to build work with socially excluded i.e Dalit, Aadivasi and Muslim children and youth to facilitate their access to education including higher education, leadership on rights and entitlements, making local.governance inclusive and enhancing employability and entrepreneurship among the most marginalised.
At present, Gram Jagat is working closely to partner with National Youth Equity Forum (NYEF) and it’s state collectives in Bihar and UP known as Bihar Ambefkar Students’ Forum (BASF) and Uttar Pradesh Youth Equity Forum (UPYEF).
NYEF in association with Gram Jagat, aims to build this national collective to nurture leadership of most marginalised youth and children in the area of Education, Youth leadership, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), employability and Entrepreneurial Education.
It has also specific interventions on promoting inclusive education and innovations in education through Learning Programme for Equity (LIPE) for Musahar community in Patna region, library and learning enhancement projects in Gaya and Bhagalpur districts and Well being project in Udaipur Rajasthan through local partners.
